Outstanding Website

Introduction
North Star Windows & Doors is Ontario’s largest vinyl window manufacturer. They have 280 employees with a dealer network of 250 retailers that services 4 Canadian provinces and 3 US states. North Star produces 5% of all windows manufactured in Canada.
The Strategy
Historically, and much like many manufacturers, North Star didn’t focus marketing much to consumers. They saw it as too cost prohibitive and left consumer marketing to their counterparts.
We believed that the web, if used intelligently could allow North Star to capture countless new consumer leads and pass them to their local dealers to close the sale.
What We Did
In July 2012, we launched one of the best home renovations’ websites in North America. It focused on great/clean design, numerous call to actions, a new web video, great dealer locator tools and content marketing (e-book downloading). We supplemented it with a province-wide web sweepstakes, and a web rebate program to increase lead acquisition.
The Results
Since launch, the new website is converting at 10.8% (up over 900%), and website traffic is up over 500% (year to year comparable), and we exceeded client success targets by 300%.
To put the 10.8% lead conversion into perspective, most manufacturing websites will convert at 0.25-1.0%.
In total, the client has over 4,000 more sales leads from the website since launch than they did the previous year on the old site (July-December 2012 vs. July-December 2011 comparable).
