Outstanding Website

Brightlabs was elected to design and build the Smiling for Smiddy website, where cycling events honour the memory of Adam Smiddy, who passed away to an aggressive cancer in 2006. The awareness achieved has enabled more than $2 million to be raised for cancer research and support services since. To further promote the reputation and the cause of this achievement Brightlabs implemented an easy to use, professional and interactive website which draws the user in, seeking to educate with various interactive and social media tools including news, media, press releases, events feeds and other sources of rich media. Attracting an audience that thrives off challenges and has an active community presence to push ahead with the high quality and visual display of the Smiddy challenges, videos and wider community feedback engages its audience to explore and become empowered by the message and meaning the site conveys; “Cycling does not define us. It enables us – to channel our energy and desire to tackle cancer head on. How far would you go to fight cancer?” Presenting this message on a modern scalable platform, with an easy to use Content Management System (CMS) allows automation of website tasks and empowers Smiling for Smiddy staff to quickly and easily update the website
