In October, Hart launched its new brand. New logo. New look. New tagline - Every Day, Greater. So when it came time to create our holiday greeting, we wanted to not only wish our clients and friends Happy Holidays, but also drive people to interact with our new site. We also wanted to bring back the excitement and anticipation of Christmas morning by inviting people to play our little holiday game.
Each morning at 10 a.m., for 12 days, we showcased a wrapped present and gave people the chance to guess what it was. The first person to guess correctly won that day's gift. If no one guessed correctly, we posted a clue in the comments section at 1 p.m., and another hint each hour until 5 p.m. If winners couldn't or would rather not accept the gift, we offered to make a donation to a charity in their name. Of course, the gifts were Every Day, Greater. On the first and ninth days, we sent an email blast to inform and remind people of the game.
The day the game debuted, website traffic increased 10 times. Return traffic was also quite strong. Over the 12 business days the game was played, traffic increased to over five times the normal traffic. What's more, average time visitors stayed on the site doubled.
