Best Retail Social Media Campaign

repepper works with Kirkland’s, a leading specialty retailer of home decor in the United States which operating approximately 300 stores in 30 states, to maximize its social media efforts. After creating various e-mail marketing, Facebook, and online community campaigns, Kirkland’s sought to encourage further interaction with the fast-growing social sharing site, Pinterest.

After working with Kirkland’s on many social media campaigns, it was evident that existing customers like sharing tips and pictures of home decor. It was also evident that Pinterest is widely used among women from 25-44 years old. From this, The Pinning Parlor, a microsite full of inspiration, DIY tips, and pinnable images, was created (mykirklands.com/pinningparlor). The site is not only geared toward engaging with current customers, but also reaching avid “pinners” throughout the Pinterest world and drawing them to the Kirkland’s brand.

Instead of focusing on simply having a Pinterest presence, like many other retailers, redpepper decided to take things a bit further by turning this new phenomenon into a valuable tool to reach new audiences and provide measurable results. In this campaign, redpepper integrated: a Pinterest promotion, social media strategy, website design, website development, logo development, e-mail marketing and custom photography.
