Earlier this year, ESPN approached VML with the task of reintroducing College GameDay online with a full redesign of CollegeGameDay.com. The goal was to capture the energy and excitement of the Emmy Award winning show itself and deliver that experience through the website. Known as the premier broadcast for college football, the show demanded a site that lived up to the same standards.
With that challenge in hand, VML went to work developing an online environment that not only reflected the brand of College GameDay, but provided an enriched experience for the college football fan, giving users a behind-the-scenes look at the show and delivering exclusive content found nowhere else. The success of the site is shown not only in the raw numbers (30% more traffic, average visit duration doubled, etc) but in the buzz it has received – CollegeGameDay.com has become the benchmark for ESPN digital brand properties.
