Best Credit Union Microsite/landing Page

In 2007, the Credit Union Associations of Colorado and Wyoming launched a joint state-wide branding campaign in Colorado and Wyoming with the help of Amélie Company, an outside branding and media agency. The high energy, edgy campaign drives people to visit a single microsite, www.creditunionfacts.com, where consumers can find out more about why they should join a credit union and find a credit union near them through a zip code locator. The message is simple: "Credit Unions Are a Better Deal."

The audience and goal of the microsite is to build membership in the 18-35 year old demographic, Gen X and Gen Y, to promote credit unions and contribute to the growth of the industry. The campaign creative is tailored to this generation through the use of animation, simple messaging, quirky humor, and bright graphics.

The campaign instructional character on the microsite is “Average Joe” navigated by the arrow keys and represents financial issues that most people experience. Designed to competitively appeal to younger members with background sounds of a city, plus interactive games such as “Nickeled & Dimed”, the microsite communicates the better deal that credit unions offer to members instead of banks and other financial institutions. The microsite includes: video of the Campaign’s TV commercials, radio spots (by clicking on the radio graphic), billboards, links to finding free ATMs and nearby credit unions, links to Average Joe pages on FaceBook and MySpace, live U.S. ATM fee counter, video testimonials from actual credit union members, and more!
