Best Sports Social Media Campaign

The Interactive Marketing team at Rinaldi Communication Marketing launched an innovative new Facebook campaign to increase public awareness of the importance of preserving the natural environment of Mont Sutton. Facebook was selected for the campaign because of its two-way interaction, its potential for sharing, and because an action as simple as pressing “Like” can help support environmental efforts at Mont Sutton.
The interactive campaign, called 1 Like = 1 Tree, offers a simple mechanism with the potential to go viral. The program’s theme also reinforces the positioning of this ski resort as a place where nature is honoured. For each new fan Mont Sutton gets on Facebook, one tree will be planted. This will ensure the sustainabilty of Mont Sutton’s natural environment while preserving the quality of its glade skiing, which is considered among the best in Canada. The campaign had successfully generated 1,576 new “Likes” for the Mount Sutton Facebook page.
