Best Financial Services Interactive Application

The challenge in this project was to build a sophisticated online retirement income product allocation tool and site for John Hancock Financial Network to coincide with the launch of their “product allocation” approach to retirement income planning.

BlueRush developed a tool which harnesses the power of a unique retirement income planning algorithm to allow advisors to assess the sustainability of client retirement income plans, and suggest customized options to optimize sustainability.

The tool was placed within a dedicated site which provides context, collateral and support for the application.

This BlueRush solution serves as an innovative and valuable sales aid that advisors can use to educate clients on the benefits of product allocation for retirement income. While the tool has the sophistication to show results from multiple possible scenarios, its simple interface and easy-to-read customized client reports make it extremely user-friendly.

A version of this tool was earlier developed for the John Hancock parent company, Manulife Financial Canada.

The newest version, developed for John Hancock, includes these additional features:

• An integrated expense calculator
• Links out to the US Social Security benefit calculator and other relevant information and quotation sources
• The capacity to save and recall client data

Together, these additional features significantly enhance usability by the target audience, creating a more effective, robust retirement income planning tool.
