Millennials indicate that music is their leading form of expression. They also desire simplicity and avoid risk when undertaking new things (like painting). Dutch Boy sought a way to connect with them through their passion —music – in a way that makes color choice easy, fun and simple, the hallmark of the Dutch Boy brand.

Dutch Boy paintlist merges song-identifying technology with color characteristics to translate music into actual color palettes for the consumer. It matches specific attributes from a song to elements from a color’s spectrum to create a custom palette unique to a song’s identity.

Marcus Thomas grew up like most agencies – strongly rooted in brand-building principles. We have a firm grasp on how the four Ps of marketing affect a company’s bottom line. Marcus Thomas is the product of a union between two of Northeast Ohio’s oldest and largest independent advertising and public relations firms: Marcus Advertising, founded in Cleveland in 1946, and Ira Thomas Associates, founded in Youngstown in 1937.
