Problem: Alcon offers cataract surgeons a variety of lenses for implantation during cataract surgery. However, some surgeons are not familiar with advanced technology lenses, and are unclear on which patients would be best suited for these treatment options.

Solution: The IOL Match iPad application provides surgeons with exposure to Alcon’s new line of advanced technology lenses for cataract surgery. This interactive game offers surgeons the opportunity to practice diagnosing patients in a digital environment. Through light-hearted imagery and a whimsical design, the application educates surgeons while capitalizing on their naturally competitive nature. Surgeons at the annual ophthalmology tradeshow found themselves competing over who could achieve the highest score, while passively learning the differences between Alcon’s new line of lenses.
