THE TARGET
Current Sprint Android customers eligible or soon eligible for upgrade to a premium Samsung device.

THE CHALLENGE
Android devices are constantly improving—with new functionality, new design and new power. It’s important to Sprint’s customers that they get the most out of their smartphones and, it’s just as important that they are getting these devices at the best possible price.

THE ANSWER
Emphasize the savings. Sprint is offering upgrades to the latest Samsung premium device (the Samsung Galaxy 8) at an incredibly attractive price: just $10 a month. In addition to the low lease price for the device, Sprint is offering $30 in extra savings when customers upgrade online. Upgrading is something most customers look forward to—there’s nothing like a new gadget—and having the most up-to-date phone in one’s hand always adds swagger.

THE WORK
We tied the offer to a Mother’s Day theme and used lighthearted copy and celebratory imagery to put an exclamation point on the message. The email features strong Sprint branding cues both in color and tone of voice and it reinforces the idea that we are all part of the greater Sprint family. The Samsung device is featured prominently, and the extraordinarily attractive lease terms are featured in bold type. Because this is a limited time offer, multiple call-outs underscore a sense of urgency.
