As the governing entity of one of the biggest celebrities the world has ever seen, Elvis Presley Enterprises oversees marketing operations of Graceland, Elvis merchandise, advertising, promotions, etc. However, keeping a musician alive decades after his passing — even one as legendary as Elvis — is not easy. Each year, it becomes increasingly important for EPE to step up its marketing efforts in new and fresh ways in order to attract new, younger audiences. Interactive websites are taking the world by storm. You can’t watch TV or listen to the radio these days without hearing a company driving its audience to the latest “interactive online website.” Static websites are a thing of the past, and “flashy,” interactive user experiences are what audiences expect … and it’s what keeps audiences young Because one of Aristotle’s main challenges for Elvis Presley Enterprises is to target a younger market, it was decided EPE needed to go full force on a new interactive mini-site: http://www.ElvisBackstage.com/. The new site virtually explores Elvis’s backstage dressing room in 1969 Vegas. Visitors can read Elvis’ personal telegrams, play a few chords on his guitar, look through the clothing on his clothes rack, flip through the Colonel’s scrapbook, and lots more.
